Question
When I tried to text transfer a tar.gz file from the sender side, it failed with "0251-0000".
If I reduce the file size, the transfer succeeds.
Answer
This error occurs because files with tar.gz extension contain binary data that cannot be processed by HULFT Square's text transfer.
One record in a text transfer is determined by a newline code, and the maximum value of one record is 32768 bytes.
It is thought that the maximum value of one record was exceeded because the file size exceeded 32768 bytes due to the inability to judge records by newline codes because of compression.
Although reducing the file size will result in a successful transfer when the overall size is below 32768 bytes, compressed files are not suitable data for text transfer where HULFT Square manipulates newline codes, so please consider using binary transfer for tar.gz files.
