Question
HULFT Square is running on AWS.
Does it have Multi-AZ architecture, using multiple Availability Zones (AZs) for redundancy?
If so, what about the following points?
- Is the data in HULFT Square storage retained even if AZ is switched? Can the retained data be read/written?
- When an external connection destination connect to HULFT Square, is the global IP address of HULFT Square not changed even if the AZ is switched?
Answer
HULFT Square uses Multi-AZ architecture for redundancy.
- The data in the HULFT Square storage is replicated between AZs.
Therefore, when the AZ is switched, users can access to the replicated data, read and written to.
However, synchronous data replication between AZs is not supported by HULFT Square since the behavior of the synchronous replication conforms to specifications of AWS.
- Global IP addresses are different for each AZ.
Therefore, when specifying global IP address of HULFT Square on the external connection source to connect, users are recommended to specify all global IP addresses of each AZ on the external connection source.
